HIKING/WALKING TRAILS: 

  • Brown County State Park, 2 miles east or west of Nashville (two entrances, one on St. Rd. 46 E w/ covered bridge or the other on St. Rd. 46 W), Indiana’s largest state park. 
  • Hoosier National Forest
  • Salt Creek Trail, south edge of town follows Salt Creek, between the Brown Co. YMCA and the CVS Drugstore, parking available at the Y, paved walking/biking trail is almost ¾ mile long. Playground near the BC YMCA Trailhead.
  • Yellowwood State Forest, hiking trails, picnic sites, lake and camping sites, 772 S. Yellowwood Road (FYI - Major road construction is going on on Yellowwood Road).

  • Brown County State Park, 2 miles east or west of Nashville (2 entrances, one on St. Rd. 46 E with covered bridge or the other on St. Rd. 46 W), Indiana’s largest state park. Gate fee $7 for resident of Indiana and $9 for out of state resident. 812.988.6406.   • Stone Head Nature Preserve and Zimmerman Wetland Bird Habitat, State Road 135 South at Stone Head, 812.340.5077.
